DHS Issues New Rules for F-1 Students and J-1 Exchange Visitors
*POSTPONED* -- New Rule Implementation
On September 14, the U.S. District Court for the District of Massachusetts issued an order postponing the September 15 effective date of the Final Rule.
What Does the September 14th Injunction Mean?
The rule will not take effect on September 15 as originally planned. The current Duration of Status (D/S) framework and academic update and transfer regulations remain unchanged.
Students do not need to take any action at this time. ISSA is closely monitoring the situation and will continue to share clear updates and guidance as more information becomes available.
