The graduate student international travel grant program promotes Penn State’s global leadership in scholarship, research and international engagement.
International graduate students are welcomed and encouraged to apply.
Awards are contingent upon the availability of funds and the number of applications received. Applicants are strongly encouraged to seek additional funding sources, including matching funds from their campus/college/department or external funding sources.
Applicants must be currently registered Penn State graduate students in good academic standing at the time of application and at the time of travel.
Applications are accepted at Penn State’s InfoReady page during the first month of the spring and fall semesters.
Criteria for the application are found in the application instructions and may vary from semester to semester.
Applications may be made without confirmation from conference organizers that the research has been accepted for presentation. However, confirmation of acceptance will be required prior to receiving the travel grant. Workshops, internships and other activities are not eligible for funding.
Each application must be for an individual student. Group entries are not accepted.
Applicants are required to have a letter of support from someone familiar with the research. Instructions and tools for obtaining a letter of support are included withing the application.
Applicants selected to receive the travel grant will be asked to provide a short post-activity report.
