What is Global Careers Institute (GCI)?
The Global Careers Institute (GCI) is a signature professional development program hosted annually by Penn State Global and designed to prepare Penn State undergraduate and graduate students for success in the global marketplace. GCI brings together approximately 200 highly motivated international and domestic students from across Penn State’s campuses, representing a wide range of disciplines and career goals.
Recently featured in IIE Networker’s Spring 2025 issue, GCI equips students with the tools, perspectives, and networks needed to thrive in the global workforce.
The 6th annual GCI will take place on Friday, February 27, and Saturday, February 28, 2026, at the Barron Innovation HUB and Hyatt Place Hotel in Downtown State College.
This year, with the FIFA World Cup coming to Pennsylvania, GCI will incorporate themes of sport, including leadership, perseverance, teamwork, and global collaboration, into its curriculum.
