Welcome to Penn State!

There are two programs required for new incoming international students attending Penn State:

Global Gateway is a webinar for all incoming international students, offered virtually at 8:00 AM Eastern U.S. time on Tuesday, December 2, 2025. This session includes important information about immigration, finance and tuition, scam awareness, and student life, including a panel of current Penn State international students. This webinar is open to students (graduate and undergraduate) attending any Penn State campus and their family members.

Please use the form below to register for the webinar. Deadline for registration is Monday, December 1. The Zoom link for the webinar will be emailed to all registered students on December 1.

This in-person, on-campus program introduces you to University Park campus resources and the Penn State student experience and gives you an opportunity to connect with other international students.

For University Park undergraduate, graduate, and exchange students, International Student Welcome will be on Sunday, January 11. Check-in begins at 8:00 AM in the Huck Life Sciences Building, and the program begins at 8:30 AM and is finished by 11:00 AM. Undergraduate students will attend their New Student Orientation (NSO) after International Student Welcome.

If you are a University Park undergraduate, graduate, or exchange student arriving for the Spring 2026 semester, please register for ISW here: Spring 2026 International Student Welcome registration form. You can also use that form to sign up for our Arrival Information Session on Tuesday, November 18. This session will provide information on arriving at the University Park campus, where to go on campus once you arrive, how public transportation works in State College, and other topics.

Please note that there might be additional orientation programming required by your academic program or other groups.

Please read the Arrival and International Student Welcome FAQ and visit the pages below for specific information about International Student Welcome for University Park campus students.

International Student Welcome dates are different at each Penn State campus. If you are attending another (non-University Park) Penn State campus, please reach out to your Global Engagement Coordinator for more information about your on-campus arrival.
