International Education Month
International Education Week (IEW) is November 17-21, 2025. A tradition of the U.S. State and Education Departments, the week celebrates international education. Penn State hosts events throughout November as "International Education Month."
What is International Education Month?
International Education Week is an annual initiative of the U.S. Department of State and the U.S. Department of Education as part of their efforts to promote programs that prepare Americans to successfully operate in a global marketplace and attract future leaders from abroad to study and learn in this country.
This year, Penn State Global is expanding International Education Week into International Education Month (IEM). This is an opportunity for the entire Penn State community to share in the celebrations together in-person and virtually.
Penn State Global has a long tradition of hosting events throughout IEM, so that students can participate in multicultural activities and learn more about opportunities for global education at Penn State. Students, faculty, and staff are ALL welcome to host an event during IEM.
